Blog #10 My Metacognitive Experience
During this, I have gained valuable skills that will help me in the future semesters I will take. I learned one of the things that I needed the most, I learned how to understand where the authors coming from and how to figure out what he/she is trying to get across in their passage this will benefit me extremely in the future, for I'll have to take multiple English and reading classes. Considering that I want to be a photographer for a magazine, I will have to know the skills so that I can write captions to my photos and convey if I am informing or persuading someone, to know what words to use to create that feeling. I need to know how to create these emotions or facts that people rely on or can relate too. Thanks to my reading teacher I now know how to understand and break down what the author is trying to say. The other thing that I learned is from my Learning Frameworks class, how to understand how I learn, and how to study and learn properly. This will definitely most certainly help me in my future. Even when I am out of school it will help me learn about other people and about other cultures, understanding and knowing how to respect them. And that is what I want to do, is to learn about cultures and the diversity in them. This skill will help me more than I know right now. I'm so grateful that I got to take this class and that I had the amazing teachers that I do because they help me even more than just taking the class would. I know you're supposed to have a professional relationship with your teachers but I feel like I'm close to these teachers close like friends.
The personal skills and growth that I gained for this semester were that I feel more confident to share my thoughts and I feel more like an adult, able to express how I feel and how to get to know other people. Even though I'm still nervous around people I don't know or new people I feel more comfortable. I learned how to appreciate the wonderful teachers that I had this semester and then I really hate how we have to change, I wish I could just keep these teachers if I can I will. This growth will help me communicate within my future semesters and my future job. Communication is one of the most important things that you have to have as a photographer, especially a traveling photographer, you have to know how to communicate even with the language barriers. Not only did my confidence grow but my ability to learn did, I learned how to take initiative and how to plan out my time to know what is important and what is unimportant to put things in the right spot where they need to be. This will help me in future semesters and lies again to prioritize my school and leave the fun for after everything has been completed after I have reached my dream, these are the things that have made me grow to pass muster and I'm grateful for all of them and for all who have taught me them thank you.
